A member of the American Board of Family Medicine, Patrick Fleming, M.D., grew up in Crown Point and knew after he completed his residency he would come back to the region. Finding working with others and helping them solve their problems came as second nature to him, and Fleming believes these characteristics led him to pursue a career in family medicine. Under the auspices of his mother, he developed an interest in anatomy, health, exercise, and nutrition. He also shared that,through his father’s associations, he had the opportunity to interact with numerous physicians.”I observed that the family practitioner was the person who dealt with the most day-to-day medical issues,” Fleming said. He continued to say that each day offers him new challenges that are rewarding and humbling not only as a physician but also as a human being.
